Unlocked Emotions

Thought of You from Ryan J Woodward on Vimeo.

I saw this video on a blog I'm sure a lot of you follow. I've shown it to all my roommates and watched it countless times. I am completely in love with it. It reminds me of everything that dance allowed me to portray: power, strength, sorrow, joy, depression, success, emptiness, love, simplicity, frustration, beauty and freedom. I love any art form that has the ability to evoke all of those different emotions all at once. I have a great sense of admiration for anyone that takes an experience that has defined them; that defined their raw, natural, bare self and turns it into an art to show the world. That is most certainly what Ryan Woodward has done here. People might think it's a little silly to say I feel so much when I watch this video, or even when I dance, but to those people I use the words of Angela Monet, "Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who could not hear the music."

I happen to be one of those who has watched it about a thousand times. It is such a story about real life. There is so much beauty to love but also pain. Both are shown very poetically through this piece of art! It is incredible to see!
